Statue of Alfred Hitchcock on the beach of Dinard, a small seaside town in Brittany, north-western France. It is said that Hitchcock, who spent much time here, based the house used in Psycho on a villa overlooking the beach.

Posting here has been extremely sporadic lately due to a number of other interests creeping in, taking less photographs, and being much harder on myself in terms of editing and of the images I take. Shooting less, and trying to figure a lot of stuff out.

Ideally, I’d like a nice summery photography, but, then it wouldn’t be true to to aims of the blog, to shoot something recent, or that projects my current emotion, in some small way. It isn’t particularly summery today. Maybe tomorrow.

Today, I’ve been enjoying the music of Mark Knopfler and Ellie Goulding.

It opened in 1936 and closed in 1999 due to competition from the more expensive and larger multiplexes.
In 2003 it was demolished and apartments were built on the site. These have only been completed in the last year. Many are still empty, as are the shops on the ground floor.

Here’s a before photograph from 2003, it may have been closed at this time.
And this is how the apartments look now (or when the Google car was about, it doesn’t look much different now really.
