
The Ha’penny Bridge in the centre of Dublin.
The pedestrian bridge, made of cast-iron, was built in 1816 over the River Liffey. Officially called The Liffey Bridge, it is known as the Ha’ppenny Bridge due to the penny ha’penny (one and a half pence toll which was lifted in 1919.
