Paula McFetridge is the Artistic Director of the Belfast site-specific theatre company KABOSH which was founded in 1994. Previously the Artistic Director of the (now laid to rubble to be rebuilt by 2010) Lyric Theatre, Paula has been at Kabosh for 2 years now.
“The company aims to reinvent the ways in which stories are told, commissioning new writing and devising work for site-specific environments and installation. Kabosh strives to create the best environment for performance as well as cultivating original work in radical partnerships with other arts practitioners.”
They are an innovative theatre company, who aim to create an impact, a boom, kaboom, KABOSH!
The funny thing about this photograph is that I was told there was a theatre, not just an office. I was misinformed, and so Paula suggested statue of “The Speaker”, a life-size (yet quite small) bronze statue, unveiled two years ago, in what was the site of Belfast’s “Speaker’s Corner” in the 1930′s – she dislikes the statue.
Fun image!!!
the fact there is a willy painted onto it might have something to do with it. Great pic, willy aside :)
