Not that I’m running out of images, but I am in the process of keywording all of my older photographs in Aperture, since my becoming a recent Apple convert. And so I hope to include in the blog many older photographs from the external backups.
This photograph was taken, last August in the New York Public Library‘s main reading room.
New York is a fascinating, museum-like place, filled with so many places, and artefacts that we all have come to recognise to easily from such a young age, from all media. Its such a thrilling and enjoyable place to be, and although I have been there on a few occasions I am still amazed by it, I still look at many photographs, though various photoblogs, as well as stopping to admire art made in the likeness of the Big Apple or it’s numerous memorable sights.
It is a place that I would like to spend much more time in, to get to know well. I read Gothamist, the NYC blog, occasionally and it fills my head with great information about the small things that I find so interesting, such as the cross-section diagram of what’s under the City’s streets.
I will post more NYC photographs as time goes by.
Thanks for visiting, and please leave me a comment to let me know what you think of my photographs.
Ooh I really like this! The lovely warm gold tones make me want to open up a dusty old book (the pic also makes me feel like I should be studying, *shudder*).
How are you finding Aperture? Am thinking of trying it out.
I can feel the consentration in this one and it gives a warm glow.
I love libraries. You’ve captured this beautifully – the light..the atomosphere…the silence! Well done.
The lighting and warm colours are lovely. I need to get all of mine tagged over the next month. I have over ten thousand organised by date now, and that just doesn’t cut it when trying to search for a picture in a hurry. :)
[...] would not be Grannymar if I forgot to include a Toyboy. Phil at Iced Coffee is another talented Photo blogger. The images he captures leave me in awe. I hope that in studying [...]
Phil, love the nice tones of the photograph, the leading line that goes down to that chatting couple adds quite a bit to the scene. First, I see this quiet calm scene with the fellow sitting and reading and the girl on the laptop then the line takes me down to the young couple. I can imagine that are making plans for Saturday night.
I like the tone in this shot. Very warm. I love vast scenes like this.
Very nice warm tones in this beautiful and well captured scene!
